Located on the beautiful Sea of Cortez in Sonora, Mexico, Positive Impact is a highly structured, therapeutic program that provides a positive peer culture for young men between the ages of fourteen and nineteen. Participants in this experiential program have typically experienced difficulties at home or in school, exhibited self-destructive behavior or made unhealthy lifestyle choices.
Positive Impact's unique "cultural classroom" takes the boys out of their familiar surroundings and provides them with a new environment that promotes self-reflection and change. We empower each young man to take responsibility for his past behaviors, and hold himself accountable for his future goals. Our dedicated staff members teach solution-centered life skills they need in order to change their negative behavior patterns, take responsibility for their actions and develop compassion for others. By providing an integrated program of therapeutic services, physical activities, experiential learning opportunities, emotional growth workshops, leadership skills, academics and community service, participants learn the value of care, trust, accountability and self worth.
